Have Spacesuit - Will Travel
World Space Week

Have Spacesuit, Will TravelThe Heinlein Prize Trust celebrates World Space Week, the largest annual public space event on Earth, celebrated in over 50 nations every October 4-10.

Every week of the year The Heinlein Prize Trust works with World Space Week on the World Space Week Heinlein Teacher Guide, collection of science and language arts activities based on the book Have Spacesuit - Will Travel by Robert A. Heinlein, for use in grades 5 through 9.

Visit the World Space Week website for more information and activity guides.

The Heinlein Prize Trust also works with Astronaut Leroy Chiao, Ph.D., to bring a piece of space right to the students. Following a learning activity, classes will be rewarded with a Sokol pressure suit in their school. They will be allowed to touch the suit and try on the gloves. Dr. Chiao reports students who participated were "extremely enthusiastic" and "thrilled to have a spacesuit to play with..." Visit Dr. Chiao's website and blog for more information.
